Our Vision
We initially went into farming with the intent to become more self-sufficient, closer to nature, away from the grocery store and pharmacies.
We focus on heirloom fruits and vegetable genetics and have been working hard to find and maintain quality genetic strains of hemp that are more therapeutic in nature. The goal of Flower Bounty Farms is to provide a high quality artisan craft hemp flower that provides a unique therapeutic blend to help ourselves and others have holistic options to deal with health related issues. Hemp is not considered a form of medication however it has been shown to help some people deal with problems they have.
We also plan to offer clones, seeds, and flowers of our products. Keep an eye on our online store for details.
We are
working hard to develop an established soil from the converted back
yard. We utilize natural soil practices and try to maintain natural
pest management options. We maintain our own compost on site and obtain
top quality top soil to mix from local soil providers. In 2021 we
started testing different organic nutrient products for our feeding and
beneficial bacteria applications. Integrated with our composting on site
we hope to maintain an environment that is very sustainable, natural
and as close to organic as possible. We support our local small farms
and vendors in Virginia for many of our needs.
Our Start
While winging it, we learned more than we ever realized. We learned what did not work and what did. We made many changes throughout the first year. We were so excited for the small handful of fruits and vegetables from our garden harvest. Our first harvest of hemp was rather small but very rewarding.
As our improvements came to fruition, we harvested more cucumbers, beans, tomatoes, peppers, basil, parsley, lavender, hemp, and even a few pumpkins that we had to give away because we did not have enough room to freeze, can or store it all.
We realized that this is something we really enjoy doing and want to continue doing as a business. We want to offer our food and products to others if it can help them get closer to an organic diet or organic medicine.

The Farm
Our farm area has gone through multiple revisions and will continue to be changed as needed to accommodate our growth and experience as farmers. This seems to be the best way to learn for me. Come up with new ideas on how to do things in the growing space and try to implement them on a small scale to test and see if it works. Most of the time it tends to just be a learning experience of what doesn't work in our space.
During the 2021 season we enclosed a little over 10,000 square feet with a tarp and chicken wire fence to protect our crops from most animals. Unfortunately the fence was not quite good enough. Rabbits could sneak through the holes and deer could jump over the fence. It was a good attempt at protecting our investment.
While we only used a portion of the new garden space for the 2021 season, we did some minor expansion during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
We completed major garden renovations in 2024. Upgraded the fence to also include a dog kennel that encircles the garden. Built two large raised beds for fruits and vegetables. Prepped space for another raised bed for flowers and herbs. Modified the rows to accommodate 50 hemp plants while still allowing for a 54 inch mower to get around. Reworked our old pine tree stump to become our Strawberry Stump where we have started growing strawberries in hopes they will become the new cover crop in the garden.
Seeds
We are attempting to collect fruit and vegetable strains we can retain and are happy with growing every year in our farm space. As we find these select genetics, we will try to preserve them and make those seeds available for purchase in addition to selling seedlings, clones, full size plants, and their fruits and vegetables. At this moment we are working on tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, multiple herbs and spices.
We have also begun to focus on creating and collecting our own Hemp seed strains. While the therapeutic value is number one in our importance and priority levels, we look at multiple other plant values which make it hard to select the correct phenotype to breed with. Good nodal structure, large dense colas, resin coating, powdery mildew and pest resistances, and ease of growing.
- Create strong therapeutic strains
- Create strong therapeutic hemp compliant strains
- Find and incorporate the Sweet Tea aroma to all my strains.
We plan on releasing many of the strains created from the projects, tested or untested so others may find something unique in them for themselves. Depending on the quantity of seeds there may be very few available, therefore rare and unique plants should be found from our work and we hope our efforts may help others.

What we Use To Grow
We have been testing multiple products in our grow space over the years and have found our approach to growing to suit our situation.
